SUOMAA / Medical Spa Aino

Medical SPA Aino is the spa of Aino Klinikat Oy, a doctor-led clinic at Metsäkansan Ainola in Valkeakoski. The company was founded by gynaecologist Leena Larva, who has developed the spa since 2002.

Its central service is the SUOMAA® peat sauna (hoitoturvesauna), a trademarked method designed by Aino Klinikat that combines the Central European peat-spa tradition, Finnish sauna bathing and Larva’s own physiological insights. A guided session takes about three hours, including relaxation before and after, and can be repeated up to three times a day (sessions are called Solo, Duetto and Tripla). The sauna’s walls and benches are lined with absorbent natural material to keep up the humidity that peat bathing needs. In summer, a wood-heated tent sauna for 15 people is also used as a peat sauna.
