Sauna Peat Treatment
Sauna peat is a distinctly Finnish application — peat paste applied to the body before or during a sauna session. The elevated skin temperature from the sauna dramatically increases pore opening and skin permeability, potentially enhancing absorption of peat bioactives beyond what room-temperature application achieves. Combines the relaxation and circulatory benefits of sauna with the chemical benefits of peat.
Method
Peat paste is applied as a thin layer to face and/or body, then the user enters the sauna. The heat opens pores and increases cutaneous blood flow while the peat delivers bioactives. After 10–20 minutes, the peat is rinsed off in the shower. Some users apply peat between sauna rounds (löyly cycles).
