About
Saunahoitola Tasapaino is a traditional Finnish sauna-treatment practice run by Kaisu Mokkila, a traditional sauna attendant and sauna therapist who has also worked as a peat therapist since 2008. The business was founded in 2006 in Helsinki and moved back to Valkeakoski in 2024; since May 2026 it has also worked in central Jämsä. It is listed among the treatment providers that use LehtoPeat’s products.
Its peat sauna (turvesaunotus) is one of five themed group saunas, for groups of two to six. Bathers apply a layer of sedge and sphagnum treatment peat, on their own or with the attendant’s help, then sit for about twenty minutes in a gentle 50–60 °C sauna before the peat is washed off. The session always ends with at least 20 minutes’ rest. A peat wrap of about 20 minutes for part of the body, such as the back or legs, can be added to another treatment.
