About

The Värska area was officially recognized as a resort by government decree in 1971, with its therapy center opening in 1980 and a mineral-water park added in 2007. Its mud, drawn from a local lake and mixed with mineral water estimated at 570 million years old, contains hydrogen sulphide and is described as roughly ten times richer in minerals than therapeutic sea mud. It’s the only spa in Estonia offering mineral-water baths, and the only place in the Baltic states offering a full-body mud immersion bath.
