Composition: predominantly organic
Raised bog peatTransitional bog peat
Best-known applications: spa balneotherapy, cosmetic products (Durpeta brand), skin care formulations

Lithuania has a notable peat cosmetics industry, with Durpeta (southeastern Lithuania) being one of the more commercially active peat cosmetic producers in the Baltic region. Limited composition data has been published — brown peat (H8 humification) showed approximately 15.3% humic acid + humin and ~1% fulvic acid in alkaline extract analysis.

The analytical methods used differ from Estonian and Finnish standards, making direct comparison of numbers unreliable. Lithuanian peat research tends toward product development and formulation rather than fundamental compositional analysis. The combination of commercial activity and proximity to established Baltic peat research networks makes Lithuania a potential source of future comparative data.
